KCAP and Hosper present the outline design of Perm embankment.
KCAP and Hosper specialists came to Perm with a working visit last week to present the outline design of Perm embankment. The presentation took place in Perm City Hall.
Redevelopment of Perm embankment is one of the priority projects undertaken by Perm City Mayor Igor Shubin. "The embankment should become one of the major attractions of the City, the main leisure area for Perm citizens and guests," says Shubin.
The overall goals of the outline design are to connect the City to the Kama river, to develop a new address at the waterfront of Perm, to create a park landscape which will become an impulse to the City as a whole.
The outline design proposes the embankment as an integration of several zones: a city balcony, event spaces, a sloping park, a museum square, and a park boulevard.
The design links the embankment to the major City streets with the help of four connecting passages - connectors - which serve as the major activity spots within the overall park. The first connectors are planned for the fall 2010. The design also proposes several intermediate and small event spaces within the park network. Possible functions proposed for the spaces are playgrounds, sports fields, gathering spaces and stages, viewpoints, fishing, piers, etc.
